Who we are
The Meeting House tries its best to be an authentic community of people who are on the journey of discovering more about who Jesus is and what it means to follow Jesus in our lives. We have a big focus on “next steps” - trying to take the key principles that Jesus lived and modelled and seeking to focus individually and collectively on what our next steps are as we continue to live those principles out.
We gather together on Sundays and also meet throughout the week in Home Church, which is a place to get together to unpack the teaching, ask questions, apply the teaching to our lives and encourage and challenge each other about those next steps.
What you’ll experience
When you arrive at Scotiabank Theatre for one of our Sunday gatherings, our connect team will help answer any questions you might have. Once you’re upstairs at the theatre, you can grab a coffee on your way in, then join us as we start of with a time of musical worship where we focus on who God is and what God has done for us, hear some announcements about what’s happening in our community, then watch our video teaching (we show the same teaching at all of our Meeting House sites across the GTA).
The teaching generally unpacks a section of Scripture, talking through some of the important background info about what we’re reading, then some key points to think more about. We make no assumptions about background knowledge and are more than happy to have anyone join us… regardless of where you’re at in your spiritual journey and what questions you’re wrestling with. Afterwards, you can hang out in the lobby and connect with people before heading out or going to grab a bite to eat for lunch.
Downtown Meeting House
The Meeting House, Downtown Toronto meets at Scotiabank Theatre (cnr Richmond and John St) at 10 am each Sunday.
During the week, our Home Churches meet at different times on different nights, scattered across Downtown and the East End - you can find your closest one here.
One of our Home Churches is specifically designed to help students who are living and studying Downtown be able to connect with each other and talk about the things that are super important when you’re at College or University. Our students Home Church meets on Monday nights from 7:30-9:30 in the King/Spadina area and also meets for regular social activities.

Nate is the Lead Pastor at The Meeting House Downtown Toronto. Originally from Australia, Nate and his family (wife Ali, kids Josh and Rachel) moved to Toronto in Sept 2009 so he could take on this role. Nate loves Toronto and all the diversity, excitement and craziness that it brings and is passionate about helping people discover what is at the core of a Jesus-centred life, lived out in community. In particular, Nate has a real heart to invest in 20-somethings, to help them find their identity, purpose and the unique role God has for them to play in His work of restoration.
